After checking out from Silks Place Yilan, we headed to Wellspring by Silks Beitou (北投晶泉丰旅), located in the Beitou district of Taipei, Taiwan. It is a boutique hot spring hotel offering a serene and luxurious retreat. Nestled amidst the lush greenery and natural hot springs of Beitou, the hotel combines modern minimalist design with elements of traditional Taiwanese culture. It is also part of the Silks Hotel Group, known for its focus on elegance and premium guest experiences. We were greeted by a group of helpful and friendly staff and we already knew it was going to be a pleasant stay.
HOLLYWOOD KING ROOM
I stayed in the Hollywood King Room which comes with a king-sized bed and a balcony where you can chill and enjoy the beautiful view of Beitou. They provided high quality amenities, complimentary beverages and even facial masks in the fridge.
The highlight has to be the in-room stone hot spring tub where I got to enjoy my private soak. There are 100 rooms in this hotel and every room comes with a private hot spring in the room where guests can enjoy Beitou’s famed sulphuric hot spring.
The hot spring water is naturally sourced and is said to have therapeutic benefits for the skin and muscles. There are 2 separate tubs so you can do both hot and cold soaks which helps to enhance blood circulation. Definitely a good choice if you’re looking for a place to unwind and relax your body!
FACILITIES:
The hotel offers a variety of wellness and leisure amenities, including an outdoor pool and spa baths designed for ultimate relaxation. Guests can enjoy an invigorating workout at the fully equipped gym, while children can have fun in the family-friendly “Kids’ Zone,” which includes both indoor and outdoor play areas. Additionally, the hotel is home to the acclaimed Wellspring SPA, recognized as Taiwan’s “Best Hotel Spa” by the World SPA Award for seven consecutive years, providing outstanding therapeutic treatments and exceptional service.
The hotel also offers public hot spring baths for guests seeking a communal experience. They are separated into two sections for male and female and are themed “Mountain” and “Valley”. There are also sauna rooms, drinks and a large dressing area so it is really convenient.
Right outside the public bath area is an outdoor pool and spa area where guests can pamper themselves to various treatments that promotes relaxation and well-being.
Don’t forget to spend some time chilling at The Gallery located on the left side of the lobby. They provide guests with selected beverages (including alcoholic ones) and light snacks in the evenings so you can spend quality time with your friends or family while enjoying premium service.
DINING AT BANDO CLUB
We had our dinner at Bando Club which specializes in Taiwanese fusion cuisine, blending traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques. The restaurant features private dining spaces, making it ideal for family gatherings and special occasions.
We dined in one of their spacious private rooms and had a luxurious meal including items such as Assorted Fresh Sashimi, Lobster Salad and Braised Shark’s Fin. The presentations of the dishes were also impressive so this meal will definitely be a memorable one for you. My favourite had to be the Crab Seafood Congee because it was so comforting and really brought out the umami seafood flavours.
For breakfast, I had a well-balanced meal at Mihan, where they served mainly Taiwanese and Japanese items. They serve Japanese hotpot during lunch and dinner so you can also book your meals there if you love sukiyaki.
LOCATION:
It’s very easy to get to the hotel as it is just a few minutes’ walk from XinBeiTou MRT station. There are also lots of local shops and eateries, supermarket as well as attractions in the vicinity so you can spend a relaxing day exploring the area. I took an early morning walk and was able to make short visits to the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Beitou Park and Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch. We were lucky to have a day of good weather with very blue skies so it was a pleasant trip. If you have more time, you can also explore the famous Yangmingshan and Guandu Nature Park which are about 15 minutes’ drive away.
Overall, it is a great place to stay if you are looking for a quiet yet luxurious and exquisite place to unwind. With all the facilities and amazing food available here, you will never be bored. I definitely can’t wait to be back myself!
