On the 4th day of our Taiwan trip, we travelled from Beitou to Tainan where the weather was slightly warmer. We had a short tour before checking into Silks Place Tainan, a luxurious 5-star hotel located in the heart of Tainan’s West Central District, Taiwan’s oldest city. It is part of the Silks Hotel Group and offers a blend of modern comfort and traditional cultural elements, making it suitable for both business and leisure travellers.

Junior Family Suite King Room
I really enjoyed my stay here at Silks Place Tainan because my room was huge and comfortable. I stayed in their Junior Family Suite King room which measures 52 square metres and features a fusion of Japanese Zen and modern designs. There are 2 flat-screen TVs, one in the living area and the other in the bedroom area.
They practise sustainability so disposable essentials are not placed in your room. However, you can request for them at the lobby counter and they will provide you with what you need.
The room also comes with a complimentary mini-bar, facial masks and Nespresso Cafe machine so you can unwind in your room. Prices are also really reasonable so I’ll definitely be booking my stay here if I visit Tainan again. I also recommend families with kids to book the Teddy Bear Room because it is really cute! Kids will be absolutely thrilled and have a memorable stay here.
FACILITIES

On the same level, there is also a fitness centre equipped with state-of-the-art exercise machines and free weights. It’s open daily for guests who want to maintain their fitness routine. There is also a Children’s Playroom – a colourful, interactive space designed for younger guests. Kids can be entertained with games, toys and activities.
Private Room Dining
We had an amazing dinner in a private room in Silks House Tainan, a signature dining venue in the hotel offering a luxurious culinary experience that blends traditional Chinese cuisine with modern sophistication. They specialize in refined Cantonese and Taiwanese cuisine and incorporate local ingredients and authentic flavours.
I enjoyed every item I had but the highlight was the massive DIY shaved ice dessert which came with so much dry ice that the entire room was filled with smoke. It came with 6 hot toppings including tapioca, red bean and sesame tangyuan. This is definitely one of my favourite meals of the trip.
After dinner we headed to The Lounge which is designed to provide guests with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that reflects the refined charm of the hotel. We had lots of fun playing drinking games, eating light bites and listening to the live music. If you are a drinker, make sure to check out their signature cocktails as they are known for their unique and expertly crafted drinks, often inspired by local flavours and seasonal ingredients.
Silks Place Tainan offers a sumptuous breakfast buffet that combines international flavours with local Tainan specialties, ensuring a delightful start to your day. The breakfast buffet is served at Robin’s Grill & Teppan which is the hotel’s main dining venue but you can also head to their convention room on the second level for a smaller buffet serving local items.
