Am honoured to be invited to the launch of “Journey 2: The Mysterious”, a new 4-D movie experience at Sentosa 4D AdventureLand last week.
The new 4-D movie features the 2012 released Hollywood blockbuster – ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’, starring original casts like Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. “The Rock”, Michael Caine, Luis Guzman, Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens, into a 4-D format that will be screened exclusively at the Sentosa 4D AdventureLand. The premiere in Asia shall replace the long running 4-D movie, ‘Pirates’ that was run since its opening in 2005.
Previously ticketed separately, now visitors get to purchase a One-Day Adventure Pass for UNLIMITED access to the “Extreme Log Ride” – 4-D motion-simulated ride launched in 2007, “Desperados” – 4-D interactive shoot-out game launched in 2009, as well as the newly launched 4-D Movie, “Journey 2: The Mysterious”.

Children, aged 3-12: S$26.90
Free entry for children below 3 years old.
P/S: Sentosa Island admission and transport charges still apply.

At the launch, we get to step into Sentosa 4D AdventureLand and experience for ourself what’s in store for us.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (15mins)
The main difference of a 4-D movie from the a 3-D movie is that other than the stero and “pop-up” effect, one’s senses is immersively engaged. Get the hair-raising experience with the giantic centipede crawling past you, be immersed in the fragrance of the lemon grass, splashed by water and see the water bubble when in the deep sea, and feel the sudden poke when being attacked. At times, these sensation come at the least expected timing and the thrill level simply increased.
Extreme Log Ride (10mins)
Follow the thrilling journey the Super-Tree log, ride through deep caves, and dive into crocodile infested water to get transported to Himalamazon. This is truely exciting and enjoyable!
Desperados (6mins)
Step into the Wild West and get onto the riding motion saddles with motion-sensor pistol to take down the bandits, you immediatey find yourself as a cowboy/cowgirls. Took on a ful shoot-out session in 4-D and strive to be the top gunslinger. While I thought I might have scored badly, surprisingly, my score has came up under the top 5! Am just being lucky coz my batch of “cowboys” & “cowgirls” seems a bit confused on how to score, lol!
And of course, that’s not all! Ridhwan Azman, which most people know him as Ismail from the movie, “Ah Boys To Men”, performed live! His fans are just so crazy over him and sreamed non-stop through out!
