Nowadays, Mookata is getting more and more popular in Singapore. You can tell it by seeing more and more new Mookata restaurant on social media by people sharing it. What so special about Mookata? Mookata actually mean, “Moo” stands for pork and “kata” means skillet. It is a unique cooking way that allows diners to enjoy barbecue and hot-pot at the same time. Mookata used pork lard instead of oil or butter.
Let’s me introduce a new and valuable Mookata restaurant in Singapore, the ChokChai Thai Mookata located at Blk 340 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, Coffee Shop. The word “Chok Chai” means Victory in English. The traditional ChokChai Thai Mookata comes with affordable price at S$28 and S$45, for 2-3 pax and 4-5 pax respectively. Alternative, you can order ala-carte at different pricing if you want more too!
The taste of the broth was light and flavourful. It was the perfect broth for Thai Mookata. The reason to the light and flavourful broth was that they prepared the broth with pork bone, white radish, pandan leaves and undisclosed recipe.
The Thai black pepper chicken meat was my favourite meat among all. The black pepper chicken was really peppery, aromatic (guess they used some other special recipe to marinate it), and the spiciness was just perfect.
Spicy lover alert, their red chili sauce was really spicy, the more you eat, the spicier you will feel. For the non-spicy lover, you can try their green chili sauce as it tasted slightly sweet with a mild spicy.
My Verdict:
I enjoyed the delightful Mookata experience at ChokChai Thai Mookata. The foods were well-prepared and fresh as I can tell that they have put in lots of effort to serve the best quality foods for their customers. The price of the Mookata meal was affordable, so that everyone can enjoy the best Thai Mookata located in the heart of Ang Mo Kio Ave 1.
