House of Roasted Duck is helmed by Executive Chef Lau Wai Keong, formerly from The Excelsior Hotel & Convention Centre in Hong Kong. It is located along the trendy hipster place at Bugis Village, Singapore. You won’t miss out on these Hong Kong delights.
Indulge your palate with a variety of traditional and authentic Hong Kong style roasted delights such as Signature Peking Duck, Crispy Roasted Pork, Soy Sauce Chicken and a range of Hong Kong delicacies such as Congee with Cuttlefish, Fish Slices, Pig Skin & Peanuts and Shrimp Dumpling Noodles together with an assortment of Cantonese Dim Sum.
One of the signature dishes is Peking Duck – 2 Styles, where you can enjoy the best of both worlds in one dish, with its delectable mix of Peking Duck and Roasted Duck. What’s the difference between Roasted Duck vs Peking Duck? Roasted duck meat will be meatier, firm and carry bones, while Peking duck meat will be thinner, dry and the skin is crispier.
1st way: Make your own Peking duck wrap with the sauces and wrap provided. First, the waitress will demonstrate the steps of wrapping the Peking duck. After that, you can DIY your own Peking duck wrap.
2nd way: Dip the roasted meat into your ideal sauce. I would refer their sambal chilli, as I am a chilli lover. Their home-made sauce is another recommended sauce you should try. It was very gooey and flavourful.
3rd way: Eat the Roasted duck meat and Peking duck skin without any sauce, so that you can taste the real flavour in it. The roasted duck skin tends to be more oily, flavourful, and have more fats in it as compared to Peking Duck.
4th way: Have your thin and crispy Peking duck without the wrap and dip with their home-made sauce. It gives you another kind of delectable experience.
5th way: Have your roasted duck in a bowl of congee or their springy noodles. It give you different kind of experience when the duck meat is combined with the congee or noodles. I would suggest to go with their congee, as the congee was literally plain and when you added in the roasted duck, it gives you a WOW impact and brings up the congee taste to the next level.
Congee with Abalone & Roasted Duck – The roasted duck goes well with this bowl of marvelous congee. This is the best congee that I have ever had! The congee has a refined yet fluffy and starchy texture that literally melts in your mouth. The roasted duck flavours up the congee to give you the best congee experience.
Crispy Roasted Pork – One of the common dishes that you will order when you visit a roasted meat restaurant. This outstanding roasted pork belly will definitely give you a big impact. The pork belly skin was very crispy, thin and not overly salty. The tender meat doesn’t has much fats in it, so ladies shouldn’t afraid of having more helpings.
Twin Combo Noodle (Soy Sauce Chicken & Barbecued Pork) – The smoothest and most tender Soy Sauce Chicken that i ever tried. The Soy Sauce Chicken was very smooth and tender; the texture of the Barbecued Pork literally melts in your mouth. It came with a plate of springy and chewy egg noodles and a bowl of flavourful soup.
Braised Beef Brisket – This bowl of thick and deliciously succulent beef brisket will definitely score well for you. The clear broth was light and clean, it goes well with a bowl of rice.
My Verdict:
House of Roasted Duck is definitely the place you should go for your roasted meat cravings and it is also a good dining place to bring your family over to have a luxury meal time with them along with the best roasted duck meat in town. I would highly recommend you guys to try their Crispy Roasted Duck and also the Peking Duck.
