Shoppers and visitors of all ages were treated to a host of entertaining performances and games at VivoCity’s Mid-Autumn Celebrations which took place at the Amphitheatre on Level 3.
A total of 1028 signatures were penned on a giant lantern to set a new record for “The Most Number of Signatures on a Lantern” as part of VivoCity’s Mid-Autumn celebrations this evening.
Mr Chang Yeng Cheong, General Manager of VivoCity and Ms Jaylyn Ong, Deputy General Manager of VivoCity, pens the final signature on the giant lantern as VivoCity sets a new record for “The Most Number of Signatures on a Lantern” as part of its Mid-Autumn celebrations this year.

10 September 2011, Singapore – Singapore’s largest lifestyle and retail destination, VivoCity, capped off its celebrations of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival with a record-breaking event today involving more than 1000 participants. Since 2007, VivoCity has commemorated the popular annual festival with an entry into the Singapore Book of Records and this year, the mall was successful in setting a new record for “The Most Number of Signatures on a Lantern”.
A total of 1028 signatures were penned on the giant lantern, measuring 3m in height and 1.5m in breadth, to create the new Singapore record. To mark the momentous occasion, the giant lantern was also lit beneath the full moon of the Mid-autumn, illuminating the Sky Park and captivating everyone in attendance.
The participants, made up of people from all ages, were treated to a variety of entertaining performances and games at the event. Attractive prizes worth more than S$15,000 were also up for grabs via a lucky draw organised for the participants.
Shoppers and visitors of VivoCity will be able to catch sight of the giant lantern as it will be on display at the Sky Park till 12 September. In addition, a wide assortment of traditional and unique-flavoured mooncakes, festive savouries and colourful lanterns to suit all palettes and preferences will continue to be available till 12 September at the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair at Central Court on Level 1.
