When it comes to Japanese food, so many food venues pop up in your head. But let me add one new Japanese must-go place into your dictionary! Introducing, IPPIN CAFE BAR!

One unique thing about this place which set a difference between other Japanese places is the ambiance and the concept. Tucked among Mohammad Sultan road, this cafe bar provides a homely ambiance. It’s like going home where Japanese would usually say TADAIMA. Also, whatever you eat in the restaurant is available for purchasing as well. For example, if you think that the tea is good, you can purchase the tea leaves and etc… It practically lets you bring a part of them home:)

We tried a couple of their signature dishes of which I’ve list down 3 as MUST-TRY.
1. PLUM WINE
With an extensive collection of wines, shoju and sake, the best of all must be the plum wine. The taste of plum is so present that the liquor doesn’t taste that overpowering. It’s good to have it before and after meal. Best of all, it aids in LOSING WEIGHT!

2. FRIED OYSTER

For someone who don’t really fancy Oyster, mainly because of the fishy smell/taste, this is the first time Oysters appeals to me. The light batter coated outside the oyster was so crunchy yet not too-batter-y and the oysters were super tasty. Best of all is, you can buy back a frozen pack and fry it yourself at home!

3. PORK STEW WITH POTATO AND CARROT

This is one of my favorites. First bite and it brings you back home! Best coupled with rice and bread ( they don’t serve bread but that’s my recommendation) It’s a bit like comfort food but super tasty and I guarantee you’ll want more.

Prices are NETT price and there’s free WiFi. Psst: really fast WiFi. Recommended way to head down: Clarke Quay MRT and walk towards Park Hotel.
